What is Queercon?
I'm sorry, did you overlook the link titled "About" directly next to this one?

When is it, where is it, etc
For the latest official information, check out the Announcements page. If you want to know rumblings and progress on the undecided details, take a peek into the Defcon forums.

How can I attend?
Well, Queercon is a party inside of the larger Defcon conference. So if you're going to attend, you need to be an attendee of Defcon. Then, just show up at the specified queer-time in the specified queer-place.

Is there a cover?
Absolutely not.

Who can come?
Admittedly, the primary goal of this party is to get all the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered) hackers together and hopefully we can discover how strong our ranks really are. But this party completely open to everyone who enjoys good techno and feels like dancing.

Will there be booze?
Yes, there will be booze. If we can't get a space with a true bar, we will try to rent a beverage cart or something. If the event winds up completely BYOB, we'll let you know.

Is there an age restriction?
Not enforced by us, although there will likely be alcohol around. We trust you know the laws and if you're under 21, please abide by them.

How am I supposed to know who's gay?
We're taking a page from the Gay Days Orlando book (and others) on this one. There is an official color/symbol that'll be used to identify a queer hacker. Recently, we have been using a small rainbow sticker for proud display on your badge (or shy display on the back of your badge.)

I don't feel safe attending!
We know that although they're a minority, some people are intolerant of differences. For that reason, we'll have at least one big beefy guy under our wing to watch out for trouble.

I'm straight, will I catch teh ghey if I come?
No, you won't. :) Unless you want to, in which case, just come find one of us.
